Gratitude in Action: Celebrating the Organizations That Gathered Here in 2025
As the year comes to a close, December invites reflection—not just on what was accomplished, but on who made it possible.
Throughout 2025, Lisa Maloff University Center has been honored to serve as a gathering place for nonprofits, educators, leaders, and organizations doing truly meaningful work across our region. From strategic planning sessions to community-focused events, the Center has quietly supported conversations that turned into action—the kind that ripples out and makes a real difference.
This is our moment to say thank you. Not with generic platitudes, but with genuine recognition of the incredible impact happening right here in our community.
A Year of Purpose-Driven Gatherings
Over the past year, our meeting rooms have filled with people tackling important questions, launching bold new ideas, and strengthening the organizations that hold our community together.
We’ve been honored to host:
- Nonprofits advancing their missions – doing the often-unseen work that makes our community stronger and more compassionate
- Educators collaborating on programs – finding innovative ways to support student success, both in and out of the classroom
- Community leaders planning for the future – building a more resilient, connected region for everyone who calls Tahoe home
- Organizations creating space for growth – prioritizing alignment, learning, and the kind of honest conversations that lead to real change
Each gathering—whether it was a small team huddle or a full-day retreat—contributed to something bigger than itself. Ideas were refined. Partnerships were strengthened. Students and community members were better supported because people took the time to come together and do the work.
And honestly? That’s what it’s all about.
Gratitude in Action: Season of Giving Kickoff
One event that perfectly captures the spirit of what we’re all about is the Season of Giving Kickoff, happening on Wednesday, December 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. right here at Lisa Maloff University Center on the Lake Tahoe Community College campus.
Hosted in partnership with the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, this special event raises funds and collects donations for the college’s Basic Needs Center—a vital resource where students can access food, toiletries, and school supplies that help make everyday life just a little bit easier.
We’re inviting our community to donate:
- Perishable and non-perishable food items
- Toiletries and personal care products
- School supplies
These contributions go directly to students who are juggling school, work, and life—often with limited resources and a lot on their plates. It’s a beautiful reminder that when a community shows up for each other, even small acts can create meaningful, lasting impact.
If you’re able to stop by, we’d love to see you. Bring what you can, stay for a bit, and be part of something that matters.
Collective Impact, One Gathering at a Time
Here’s what we’ve witnessed over and over this year: impact rarely happens in isolation.
It happens when:
- Boards gather to make thoughtful, values-driven decisions
- Educators collaborate on student-centered solutions that actually work
- Nonprofits plan strategically instead of constantly reacting to the next crisis
- Community members show up for one another—not just when it’s convenient, but when it counts
Lisa Maloff University Center doesn’t lead these efforts (and we wouldn’t want to take credit for your amazing work). But we’re proud to help make them possible. By offering a reliable, welcoming place to meet and connect, the Center acts as a quiet partner in the work that strengthens our region socially, educationally, and economically.
We don’t take that responsibility lightly.
Looking Ahead to 2026 with Gratitude and Excitement
As we reflect on the year behind us, we’re also looking forward—with genuine optimism and clear intention.
We’re deeply inspired by the organizations who chose to gather here in 2025, and we’re excited to continue supporting the work that matters most:
- Strategic planning sessions that set the course for what’s next
- Community events that bring people together in meaningful ways
- Educational programs that expand what’s possible for learners of all ages
- Collaborative meetings that move important work forward (not just fill calendars)
The truth is, watching your work unfold throughout the year has been one of the greatest privileges of ours. The dedication, creativity, and heart you bring to your organizations doesn’t go unnoticed. We see it, we appreciate it, and we’re honored that you trust us with the space to do it.
👉 We’re here to support your work in 2026—and beyond. If you’re planning something meaningful for the new year, let us know how we can help make it happen.
Thank you for choosing Lisa Maloff University Center as a place to gather, think, create, and build impact together. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish as a community next year.
Here’s to the work that matters—and to doing it together.
